Removed the Safari and Landscape iPhone icons and resubmitted on September 11, 2009
After 17 days in App review queue my Custom News app got rejected with this explanation:
We've reviewed Custom News and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because of an Apple trademark image. We want to remind you of the importance of following Apple's posted Guidelines for Using Apple's Trademarks and Copyrights: <http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/guidelinesfor3rdparties.html>.
See the attached screenshot.
Which icon do they have problem with the Safari icon or the Landscape mode iPhone icon? Both came from Gyphish. I have seen the Safari icon used in other apps. I don't know about the horizontal iPhone icon.
Any thoughts?
